The TSAF 205 Aluminium Rail is the rigid rail of the rail-type Vertical Lifeline System. It is made from 6063 T6 aluminium with a natural finish. The catalogue lists a minimum breaking strength of 15 kN and a weight of 2.425 kg per metre for the aluminium version.
The rail is mounted on the ladder or structure and guides the TSAF 202 fall arrestor trolley along the full height of the climb. The catalogue describes the enclosed rail as allowing the trolley to move with minimal resistance while protecting the wheels. Rail lengths are joined with TSAF 703 rail connectors, fixed to ladders with TSAF 708 connectors and closed with end stoppers. A steel version is available as TSAF 705.
